Host a Screening of the Award Winning Documentary Garbage Dreams

Looking for a unique community event to add to your Earth Day celebration? Garbage Dreams is an award winning film that follows three teenage boys born into the trash trade and growing up in the world’s largest garbage village on the outskirts of Cairo. Working Films and Transition US invite you to join the Garbage Dreams Tour, a community-based screening campaign aimed at demonstrating the impacts of waste that we produce.

Host a screening of the film and connect the story of these young people in Cairo to the zero waste, recycling, or climate change efforts you are working on in your community.

The DVD is available from Working Films along with resources and guides to set up your community screening. The film is available to the Transitions US community for a limited time special of $95 (a 25% discount off of the regular price of $125) leading up to Earth Day, April 22, 2010. Order the film here. Groups are welcome to charge admission to the screening to cover the cost or use it as a fundraising event.

For more information you can check out the trailer and this clip from the film. Feel free to contact Anna Lee at Working Films with any questions: 910-342-9000 or alee@workingfilms.org
