Building on the monthly "Roundup of What's Happening in the World of Transiton" pulled together by Helen and Rob over at Transition Culture, here are some highlights of what's keeping Transition Initiatives busy across the US...

In Vermont, Transition Vermont EDAP Planning Committee continue to meet - check out their group for details. Also in VT, Transition Town Montpelier organized a Village-building Convergence June 10-21st, 2011, with over 30 workshops and panel discussions. To fundraise for the event, they put on 'The Mad Pie Hoedown Fundraiser' where they raised over $600 for the VbC (photo to the left)! And, a new group, Franklin County Transition Initiative, is kicking off this month! Check out their group here.
In Oklahoma, Transition OKC is organizing Oklahoma's first full 72hour Permaculture Design Certificate which will run August to November.
In Pennsylvania, Transition Town Media's TimeBank Initiative had their first members meeting and potluck - mosey over to their website for great information on what a TimeBank is, how it works, and how it benefits the community.
In Florida, Transition Sarasota's Suncoast Gleaning Project members did an end of the season gleaning at King Family Farm and Market for Manatee Food Bank.
In California, Transition Albany held their Great Unleashing! Here's are two recaps from Kentaro Toyamo and Catherine Sutton, founder of Transition Albany two years ago. "If the goal was to create a memorable event that was the beginning of something community-driven to build resilience, I think we achieved it. A strong, self-led food group is evolving, as well as various other small groups – around a Time Bank and Herbal First Aid, for instance. More will follow," writes Catherine. Way to go!

In Illinois, Transition Trainers Bill and Becky Wilson had a great Training for Transition (T4T) session with organizers of Transition Chicago, and from the sounds of it, both the trainers and the participants had a stellar time..."Inspiring stories, collective wisdom, helpful, diverse backgrounds, talents and perspectives doing what we love..."that" is what it's all about- unleashing the genius from simply coming together."
