Climate Change, Disaster and Mental Health
October 4, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm PDT
In these unprecedented times of disasters and the growing number of those impacted by the compounding crises of climate change, we are also seeing a new level of mental and emotional health challenges. PTSD, burnout, grief and so many other related psychological states are affecting more people than ever. In this workshop, we attempt to grapple with some of the ways people are addressing this very important subject–both as prepardness for disaster, response during a crisis and recovery after. We will look at the different ways we rise to meet these challenges, from institutions and nonprofits to religious organizations and mutual aid–all seeking in their way to help the many who suffer from disaster and climate change ongoing crisis.
